Youth Groups

St John's Church supports a number of youth groups, details of which can be found below.

This page will be updated shortly to give more information.

Chatterbox

Chatterbox is a church run facility for babies to pre-schoolchildren and their mums and dads. It is an informal club and open for people to come and go as they wish. We meet every wednesday morning in term-time in St. John's church hall and community centre and closed during school holidays and half -terms.

The cost is £1 a morning per family (to cover the cost of the hall) and we are open from 10a.m - 11.45a.m. It is a central meeting place in a pleasant, clean and safe environment. There is a snack bar facility serving tea, coffee, etc, at a reasonable price. Also, there are toilets and a baby changing area.

The purpose of chatterbox is for parents and children to enjoy playing and meet new and old friends alike.

We currently have over 40 families registered although not all come every week. On average, about 25 attend weekly. We have a good collection of toys, and we are adding new and exciting toys frequently. We also try and have a craft table set up most weeks.

A number of those who attend and help are members of St. John's church and their sharing in this friendship group is a way of the church's influence being exercised among others. Those who make this group available believe that it serves God in the community in a very special way.

Jennie Preston is now the group leader. She can be contacted through the vicar's office on(01843)-223144.
