The Twenty First Century
As can be seen from the forgoing, this church building has undergone many changes and improvements over the centuries. It has been adapted to suit the needs and aspirations of the worshipping community at the time and reflects and records the social history of the area down the ages.

Each century can be charted in the building and now in the 21st century we are planning further changes to reflect the times. The reordering of the church building will be carried out sensitively and in respect for the past but at the same time looking forward.
Historic buildings designed for worship are dynamic rather than static structures and cannot be frozen in time. They are organic structures, continually evolving over the centuries as they have been adapted again and again to accommodate fresh needs or new ideas.
Such adaptation was carried out in past generations with ruthless and uncompromising thoroughness, with an apparently total disregard for the past and we should not lose sight of the fact that the end result of these cathartic changes is precisely that melange of styles and materials that we all now find so delightful.
In our aim to bring people to a knowledge and love of God through Jesus Christ, we are again adapting the building to be more open, welcoming, comfortable, flexible in use and user friendly.
